SSK Research Group ‘Postcapitalism and the Innovation of Marxism: Future for East Asia in the Global Context’

We are recruiting Full-time Researchers to carry out research activities with the SSK Research Group ‘Postcapitalism and the Innovation of Marxism: Future for East Asia in the Global Context’ at College of Social Sciences at Gyeongsang National University.

1. Recruitment

  • A. Recruitment Research areas:
  •     Feminism in East Asia ( 1 person)
  •     Financialization in East Asia ( 1 person)
  • B. Recruitment position: Full-time Researcher

2. Qualification for application

  • Ph.D. holders at the point of Application

3. Hiring period and working conditions

  • Hiring (contract) period: 2021.9 to 2022.8 (workable for up to three years depending on performance)
  • Compensation: KRW 40,000,000 (including tax, 4 major insurances and severance pay) for annual salary and KRW 2,000,000 for research trip expenses per year

4. Obligations

  • A. Achieve at least 500 % publications with the NRF acknowledgement within the appointment period
  • B. Weekday research and related administrative works at the office of Gyeongsang National University campus in Jinju, Republic of Korea

5. Documents to be submitted

  • A.1 copy of the researcher application for open recruitment (Attachment No.1)
  • B.1 copy for each publication
    • Evaluate in accordance with Gyeongsang National University's Appointment Regulations and related SSK Research Group’s Rules.
    • The score of recognition of research publication is calculated as 100% for independent research, 70% for joint research by two or more persons, 70% for first authors or corresponding author of joint research by three or more people, 50% for joint research by three or more people, and 30% for joint research by four or more people.
    • A doctoral dissertation is also possible, considered 100% (Only if within three years of earning a doctorate)
    • For achievements that have not been published in the journal, please attach a certificate of publication issued by the person in charge of the publication of the journal.
    • If preparation time is insufficient, the cover and author of the performance records can be submitted in the form of electronic documents, and after being selected as a candidate for appointment, but if it is not proven, the appointment can be canceled.
  • C. Each copy of the Degree certificates and academic transcripts (Undergraduate and graduate school)
  • D. Each copy of a career certificate (all experience listed)
    • If preparation time is insufficient, it can be submitted after being selected as a candidate for appointment, but if it is not proven, the appointment can be canceled.
  • E.1 copy of self-introduction (major research achievements, awards, etc.)
  • F.1 copy of research and publication plan (Attachment No.2)
    • Please specify your plan for achieving a minimum of 500 % in relation to the above 〈4. Obligations-A〉.

6. Recruitment screening

  • A. The examination will be conducted in accordance with Gyeongsang National University's Appointment Regulations and related SSK Research Group’s Rules.
    • -Stage 1(Basic and Major Review): Review the candidates' academic excellence and research capabilities as well as whether their research plan submitted matches SSK research agendas.
    • -Stage 2 (Interview Review): Review the following for candidates who have passed the basic and major screening.
  • B. If the applicant passes, we notify individually, and if there is no suitable candidate among the applicants, we may not hire.

7. When to be appointed

  • -Planned for 2021.09 but can be adjusted after consultation

9. Precautions

  • A. Matters not specified in this notice shall be governed by the Gyeongsang National University's Appointment Regulations and related SSK Research Group’s Rules.
  • B. If there is a defect in the requirements for appointment, such as qualification for application or research results, after employment, the appointment may be canceled under the authority of the Chief of Research of SSK Research Group.
  • C. The matters concerning the service of SSK Full-time Researchers shall be governed by the official service practices of education officials
  • D. After receiving an application by e-mail, the original documents may be requested at the examination stage, and all documents shall be submitted by mail in two copies.
    • If you submit a copy, it will be compared with original and sealed with a signature. After being notified as a candidate for appointment, the office will compare it with the original copy immediately.
  • E. Non-English certificates should be submitted with an English translation.
  • F. Documents submitted will not be returned.
